In Boston, all cruise ships dock at the Black Falcon Terminal.  The Black Falcon Terminal got its name from the 440-foot Norwegian merchant vessel Black Falcon which tragically caught fire on November 2, 1953, causing eight longshoremen to lose their lives. At the time, the terminal served as a United States Army Base. Black Falcon opened as a cruise terminal in 1986.

The terminal is located in the South Boston Waterfront District, just a few miles from downtown Boston.  Black Falcon terminal serves more than 300,000 cruise passengers each year.  Over 100 cruise ships will sail from Boston in 2012 during its cruise ship season from April to November.  Most cruise ships have itineraries for sailings to Canada or Bermuda.  In the early fall, many cruise ships leave Boston for New England and Canada to find cooler weather and colorful fall foliage.

The address for the cruise port is:
1 Black Falcon Avenue
South Boston, MA 02210

The cruise terminal is conveniently located just 10 minutes from Boston Logan International Airport.

Embarking passengers can enter the terminal as early as 10:30 am for security screening and ticketing. Boarding the ship usually starts around 11 am.

The ms Maasdam will be the only ship in port on Saturday, July 14, 2012.
